What’s On Your…Bookshelf?

Welcome to the What’s On Your series, a blog hop with some of my very favorite blogger friends! Once a month, we will each give you a small glimpse into our lives by sharing one little corner of our homes.

Today, we’re sharing what’s on our bookshelves. We have a few bookshelves throughout our house, but my favorite by far is the brass etagere in our formal living room. This was a thrift store find for $40 and remains one of my best finds ever!

You may have noticed this book on the shelf. My sweet blog friend Kristy had her first book published, and I actually got to meet her and have it signed last week! I gave it to my mom for Mother’s Day (she loved it!), and I have definitely called next in line. Go check it out!

Well, sometimes life just gets in the way. This is one of those times. Sadly, Charles’ sweet grandfather passed away last Friday, and today we’ll be saying our final goodbyes. As I’m sure you all understand, family comes before the blog any day.

You know how many bloggers post gorgeous photos of a designer’s home and everything looks just perfect? Yeah, this isn’t one of those…

Kitchen Counter

Our kitchen has come a long way since its humble beginning, but we’ve still got quite a ways to go. This room is in need to a total gut job, but that will have to wait until the budget allows.

Today I’m offering just a tiny peek into what our kitchen counters actually look like. Are you ready? It’s not pretty.

It’s about the ugliest laminate I’ve ever seen. It’s got stains all over…apparently the previous owners didn’t know what pot holders were.

Plus, we’ve got a rough edge from where we cut off the rounded ends of the peninsula to make room for the fridge.

So there’s my teeny tiny sneak peek. If you come back tomorrow, I’ll be sharing our renovation plans for the kitchen!

What’s On Your…Bathroom Vanity?

Today, we’re sharing what’s on our bathroom vanities.

As you can see, I much prefer a clean, sleek look in the bathroom. The more white, the better! (PS- see some new things here? Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the finishing touches in our master bathroom.)
