I know I say this every month, but when did my baby get so big?! Charlie turned 6 months old on Wednesday and for the life of me I can’ figure out where the time went. He’s half a year old! A friend asked me the other day if I had started planning his first birthday party yet. I am so not ready for that.
Charlie goes to daycare most days and loves it there. I’m so thankful we have a place where I know he is not only cared for, but loved on every day.
I don’t consider myself an ultra girly girl. I’m more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. But when it comes to furniture, there are few things I love more than a pink sofa! Whether you live in a monochromatic, white-walled home or one with lots of color in every room, a pink sofa seems to fit right in. It’s time we embrace the fact that our sofa doesn’t have to be beige!
Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Charlie has a little cold so we laid pretty low this weekend. After a conversation about constantly feeling burned out a few weeks ago, Charles and I have made a conscious effort to not over-commit. Our weekends have not been filled to the brim, and it’s been a welcome change. We’ve had time to relax, spending weekend mornings playing in bed with the baby and taking the time to cook some delicious meals. If you’re feeling spread way too thin, I would highly recommend unapologetically taking a red pen to your calendar.

When you’re pregnant, everyone has opinions on what necessities you need to register for. Of course you need a crib, diapers, bottles, and clothes, but each mom has a list of “extra necessities” that she found to be lifesavers during those first few months. Taking the advice of many friends and a few anonymous internet ladies, I created a Babylist registry (highly recommend!) with lots of these “necessities.” But were they all worth the hype? Let’s find out!
To say that I have some very talented family and friends would be an understatement. It seems that all of my friends have a knack for something…painting, drawing, designing, decorating, cooking, baking. So what do you do when you’re a blogger and you have such brilliant friends? You blog about it, of course!

Charles and I are celebrating six years of marriage tomorrow with a day at the spa, sans baby. I couldn’t be more excited! We’re big believers in the Dave Ramsey way of life, so we haven’t spent money on ourselves in forever. We didn’t even get each other Christmas presents! So we decided to splurge and take a day just for us. I can’t wait to get pampered!
