Our Spring To Do List

The countdown to spring is on! Just 16 more days!

By the end of last spring, we were so burned out from all of the projects we’d completed recently that we decided to not try to tackle anything new for the summer. We agreed to just relax, enjoy the house, and take a break. And that’s exactly what we did.

The hiatus lasted a little longer than we originally intended, but we just haven’t felt motivated to get started again on all of the little (and a few of the big) projects on our list. But after going through all of our old before photos in prepping for my Home Show presentation, Charles and I both got the bug.

The Dexter House Kitchen Renovation

Hi there, it’s Cathy from the Grit and Polish and Sarah invited me to share our most recent kitchen renovation with you guys. (Sarah featured our last kitchen renovation here.)

My husband and I have been fixing up old houses in Seattle for 8 years now and our most recent project, a 1905 Spanish-style fixer was in rough shape when we bought it last year.  Every room needed updating, but none more than the kitchen.  It had a horrendous layout, black mold, and no room for a dishwasher, which added up to one thing: a complete gut job.  And that was a-okay with this renovation-loving gal.  Kitchens are my favorite!

702 Archives: Ghostly Homes

It’s that time of year again! Halloween is this Saturday…are you ready?! I thought I’d bring back this post from a couple of years ago. Enjoy!

——————–

Let’s just get this out there:  I love Halloween!  I’m crazy about scary movies (even when I know I won’t sleep for a week!), and I love hearing all of the ghost stories and scary tales that always seem to pick up around this time of year.
