HomeGoods Finds

Y’all. HomeGoods’ game is on point. I’ve always been a huge fan…you can see that I basically decorated our entire back porch with HomeGoods finds. So when I stopped by over the weekend, I wasn’t surprised to find that I wanted to take home just about everything in the store. Instead, I snapped a few photos of some of my favorites to share with you. Take a look!

I’m still kind of regretting not picking up these gorgeous lamps for just $29 each. But we already have more lamps than we can use. If you saw my attic you’d understand.

Word of the Year: Half Way Update

One of my big goals is to stop saying sorry, so instead of apologizing for the lack of posts around here, I’ll just say thanks for sticking around.

Instead of making empty resolutions this January that would undoubtedly fall by the wayside within a couple months, I decided to choose a Word of the Year. In 2015, my word was Intentional. For 2016, I chose the word Fearless. Here’s how I’ve been trying to live by my chosen word…

4th of July Party Favorites

Question of the week: Where has this year gone?! July is tomorrow. Seriously time, slow down!

With Independence Day coming up on Monday, there will be lots of patriotic celebrations this weekend. I’ve seen so many adorable DIY decorations and mason jar crafts, but as cute as they are, they just aren’t really my taste. I prefer something a little more sophisticated…a little more glam.

A Year of Photos

One item on my 30 Before 30 list is to create a 365 photography book, which is basically a book with one photo from each day of the year. At the end of the year, I’ll put all of the photos into a printed book. For years, I will be able to look back and remember where I was and how I felt on each of these days. Who knows? Maybe my grandkids will even look at it one day as they ride around on their 10th generation hoverboards and think about how archaic this process seems.

Lessons From Our Fathers

In honor of Father’s Day coming up this weekend, I asked a few of my favorite bloggers and designers to share the best lessons they’ve learned from their fathers. But, of course, I have to start by sharing a little about my own dad.

A huge part of who I am comes from my dad, and we are so alike in so many ways. We are both very analytical, and love a color-coded spreadsheet. He’s taught me that if you’re going to do something, do it right. My love for music and football runs deep, and that’s all from my dad. I remember riding to middle school every day and we’d “jam out” to Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, and Bruce Springsteen. He patiently taught me the ins and outs of football (the greatest sport there is), and proved that there are some things worth planning your Saturday around.
