Quotable Friday

702parkproject-hindsight quote

My grandfather’s birthday is coming up, so it seems only fitting that I’d share one of his quotes. A couple of Christmases ago, my mom gave my brother and I bound copies of his memoir that he had written several years before he passed away. Although I loved my Pap immensely, I never knew how insightful he was. I’ve now read through his memoir, entitled “In Retrospect” at least three times, and it sits permanently on my nightstand.

When my world seems to be changing so fast that I can hardly keep my head from spinning, I find solace in his words, and in the reminder that I am blessed beyond measure.

One Room Challenge – Spring Favorites

I’m still here! I unintentionally took a little hiatus from the blog, but I’m feeling refreshed. Speaking of refreshed, did you catch the One Room Challenge reveals last week? Wow!!

If you’re not familiar, the ORC is an event hosted by Linda at Calling It Home where 20 designers makeover a space from start to finish in just 6 short weeks. You’ll find everything from simply redecorating a space to knocking down walls and turning kitchens into bathrooms. It’s always so fun to watch, and the talent that is represented in this challenge is just off the charts!

Summer Getaways on the Carolina Coast

Have you ever tried Airbnb? You can find rentals in just about every city, ranging from rooms in a shared apartment to entire 10 bedroom mansions. You can book a place for a night or two, or extend your stay for months at a time. The possibilities are endless!

We tried our first Airbnb when we went to DC for our anniversary a couple years ago and absolutely loved it! We stayed in an industrial style loft in the middle of Georgetown, and could walk to all the local restaurants and shops.
