I love old houses. Especially historical fixer uppers. There’s just so much character…these homes really tell a story. So naturally I love all the houses that Preservation NC has listed for sale. They all make me think back to when we first got started and our house looked like this.
PresNC is a private non-profit statewide historic preservation organization. Its mission is to protect and promote buildings, landscapes, and sites important to the diverse heritage of NC. Through their efforts, over 700 properties across the state have been saved. You may remember this house and this house that I’ve shared in the past.
PresNC’s listing of properties for sale varies greatly in price tags and in degrees of fixer-upper-ness. So it really just depends on how crazy you are! Here are a few of my favorites…

Would you ever consider buying an older home? How about a fixer upper? Which of these if your favorite?

Sarah – I so love this post. Old Houses..Yes.! I am trying very hard to get my husband on board. Of your choices, I can’t decide…yet…thanks for posting.
Hey, thanks! I’d also add that if you want cheaper, remodel. The cost of tearing down and building anew will always be about 20 percent higher.
