One item on my 30 Before 30 list is to create a 365 photography book, which is basically a book with one photo from each day of the year. At the end of the year, I’ll put all of the photos into a printed book. For years, I will be able to look back and remember where I was and how I felt on each of these days. Who knows? Maybe my grandkids will even look at it one day as they ride around on their 10th generation hoverboards and think about how archaic this process seems.
What will I photograph? Anything and everything! My goal is to pull out my DSLR camera every day and use it for these photos. Of course, there will be days when the old trusty iPhone will just have to do, but I will try to avoid it when possible. Using my camera will require a deliberate, thoughtful act and I’m hoping this will shine through in my photos. My hope is that picking up my camera every day will teach me something new with every picture I take.
I decided to go ahead and start now, because it’s a beautiful time of year (hello summer!), and resolutions made in January seem to taper off pretty quickly. Why is it that we think new habits can only start at the beginning of the year, or on a Monday, or on the first of the month? June 21st sounds just about perfect to me!
If you’d like to keep up with my photos, I’ve created a new page here. I won’t be updating it every single day, but will try to keep it as current as possible.
Cheers!
I love this idea!
