I’ve always loved a good black and white checkered floor. My in-laws have one in their black and white kitchen and I’m so envious! In my opinion, black and white checkered floors are not just a passing trend; they’re here to stay!
Somehow, this bold style has a way of coming off as a neutral. Whether it’s a grand entry, a farmhouse kitchen, or a vintage bathroom, this style fits right in. Plus, what color doesn’t go with black and white?! Bring in brighter pops of color for a modern feel, stick to subdued tones for a traditional feel, or mix in metallics for a more elegant look.

We did black & white in our kitchen years and years and years ago and I still love it. The mistake we made was using peel and stick tiles and only using the glue that was provided on the back. I would love to do it again but this time I would add another type of glue and really make sure it was stuck to the floor. When I was looking for flooring for our new bathroom, I saw a floor that was black and white but it was on a sheet and it was beautiful. I may have to go back and look that up because the look is just beautiful!
I did my kitchen floor in Key West in black and white tiles set in the diamond pattern. It was wonderful and I miss it. Best kitchen floor I ever had.
