Summer Dreaming: Sophisticated Pools

I know summer doesn’t actually begin until June 21st, but it sure feels like summer here in North Carolina!

Lately I’ve been drawn to pools that are a little more sophisticated and classy than the small-town Elks Lodge pool where I spent so many summer days as a kid. I love the look of little to no concrete deck…just plush grass and a few elegant lounge chairs.

  1. Solar power is a renewable source of energy. A solar pool heater uses solar panels to transfer heat from the sun to your pool. Using solar pool heaters instead of electric pool heaters will reduce the use of fossil fuels, and in turn reduce the smog created by nitrogen dioxide released when burning fossil fuels.

  2. I like the way the pool is surrounded by trees and grass. It looks so natural and peaceful. By the way, do the leaves from the trees become a problem in autumn? After all, because of the greenery, more debris gets into the pool that needs to be cleaned.
