Do you ever wish you could easily and inexpensively change out the design style in your home? I love (almost) everything about our home, but sometimes I dream about being able to switch styles depending on my mood. And lately, my mood has been leading me to copper.
I’ve kind of fallen in love with copper accents throughout the home, but my favorite is definitely the freestanding copper bathtub. It’s subtle glow and warm tones make a space feel warm and inviting while still being ultra chic. Plus it feels as luxurious as gold…and y’all know I love me some gold!
I’ve done a bit of research and found that copper tubs have lots of perks…
- Copper tubs are extremely easy to clean and care for. Pure copper tubs need virtually no maintenance. No scrubbing or elbow grease required!
- Copper also has natural antimicrobial properties, which makes it as practical as it is beautiful. Studies have shown that bacteria only lives fora couple hours on copper, as compared to living for days on stainless steel and longer still on all other types of surfaces.
- Copper has a unique way of mending itself after getting scratched, because it acts as a natural, living finish. In only a short period of time, the scratch will begin to darken and slowly blend back in with the original patina.
And perhaps my favorite fact about copper tubs: they just become more beautiful as they age! The colors and tones in a copper tub will deepen over time to add even more character to your show stopping piece.
I recently discovered PlumbTile and they have a few gorgeous copper tubs, plus lots of copper sinks, hardware, and more! Here’s how I would style a luxe bathroom with a freestanding copper tub.
lighting • flooring • tub • art • towels • hardware
Are you a fan of the copper bathtub? Have you used copper in your own home?
