This weekend we had the pleasure of touring a few homes in downtown Goldsboro, NC as part of Preservation North Carolina‘s “Preservation Celebration.” Several generous couples, including my in-laws, opened up their beautiful historic homes to share with all of us.
Also on the tour was the Paul Borden House. Pres NC owns the house now, and has done a lot of work to rebuild it after a devastating fire in 2010. Now the house is ready for a buyer to come in and finish the job!
This craftsman style bungalow was built in 1920. It’s almost 3900 square feet and is for sale for $120,000. The house still has a lot of it’s original exterior features, including the tan brick and slate tile roof on the front of the house.
And also, can we talk about that front porch?!
While the exterior has had a complete overhaul, the interior is a blank slate. Nothing inside is set in stone, so the new owner could easily play round with the floor plan, pick out floors and paint, and install plumbing and electrical in the way they see fit.
And in case you were wondering what this place looked like before, here’s a little peek.
You can find out more about the house here.
Are you interested in buying this house? Know someone who might be? Please share! The sooner this house sells, the sooner Pres NC can invest in another historic property that needs some love.
