Is Christmas really this week?! How did that happen?! This year has been so full, on both a personal and professional level. If you’re just joining us, I quit my job as a non-profit accountant in August to pursue self employment full time in the marketing and content management industry, and to blog of course!
So when the One Room Challenge rolled around, I had to spend some love on my new home office! Lucky for me, Tonic Living offered to sponsor my makeover and set me up with two stunning pairs of custom, lined drapes!
When they came in, I could hardly carry the box inside. That’s how heavy these guys are! And as usual, where would I be without my handy husband?
The photo above really shows the scale that we were working with. As with everything in our house, scale is always an issue. When dealing with an almost 9 foot window, custom is about your only option.
I’ve said it before…these drapes make the room. They are hands down my very favorite part of the entire room. They add just enough grandness without being overpowering. And the grey Railroad Stripe fabric is neutral enough to not compete with everything else in the room.
Tonic Living was kind enough to line the flat panel drapes for me, which has proved incredibly valuable over the past few weeks. We can’t put blinds on the front windows because the size needed would just be too heavy, so being able to block out the brightness at certain times during the day has been really nice.
I originally bought Ikea rods to hand the drapes, but they just looked way too thin up there, so I swapped them out for these, which are much more substantial.
Aren’t they gorgeous?! Now I want to outfit the entire house with custom drapes from Tonic Living! I can’t recommend them enough!

Those drapes are pretty fabulous. Good choice.
