A few weeks ago, my mom’s three best friends and I hosted a Beatrix Potter baby shower for my brother and sister in law. It was so cute!
One of my mom’s friends is named Bunny, so naturally we had the shower at her house and it was perfectly decorated with lots of bunnies! My mom even pulled out a few vintage Beatrix Potter animals from my baby days.
We used this invitation, which made the usual springy bunny theme feel more like fall. We served veggies (of course!), garden turkey wraps, cucumber sandwiches, and carrot cake cupcakes with maple buttercream frosting. And how cute are those “carrot” silverware wraps?!
And speaking of the parents-to-be, they’ve gotten so much done on their sitting room space. Here’s a reminder if you’ve forgotten!
Here’s what the room in their ranch house rental looked like before:
And here’s the progress!
I can’t take any credit for these. I just showed them the plan, and they’ve done all the work! It’s already looking so much warmer and inviting.
My brother and dad even built a custom bookshelf to go under the bar area. Plus it matches 2 others in their house!
The Crate & Barrel couch was a Craigslist find steal, the drapes are from Ikea, and the rug is from Rugs USA. The rest was mainly pieces they already had, like the Ikea club chair. Great progress, wouldn’t you say? I’ll be sure to keep you updated as they continue to make this space even homier!
I can’t wait to get my snuggle on with my niece or nephew in this room in just a short couple of months!!
Great post today!
