Welcome back to the One Room Challenge! In this challenge, 20 designers makeover a space from start to finish in just 6 short weeks. You can catch those designers each Wednesday, and the rest of us will be linking up on Thursdays.
In case you missed it, I’ll be giving my new home office a drab to fab makeover. You can learn more about me and my plans for the office in Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3.
This week I’ve been clearing out a lot from the room, and unpacking some things I’ve bought along the way, so the room is a total disaster zone.
I did make some headway on painting the bookcases with Amy Howard’s white lacquer spray paint. I started with boring, cheap bookcases from Target and have done 3 coats so far. I plan to do a couple more once the weather around here clears up.
I know that I want to cover the back interior of the bookcases, but I can’t decide what with. I’m seriously considering using the faux marble contact paper like I did here. What do you think?
Only 2 weeks left before the big reveal!! Are you getting excited? Be sure to check out what each of these amazing designers are working on!
A huge thank you to Linda for hosting, and to Tonic Living and Amy Howard for sponsoring this makeover!
When I did my office book cases I covered the backs in red felt. You might want to think about felt in a color from your scheme. It adds a richness to the space and really softens the acoustics as a bonus.

You might want to think about putting trim at the top of your shelves. It gives it a very finished look very little money. I love mine in my kitchen.
