Welcome back to the One Room Challenge! In this challenge, 20 designers makeover a space from start to finish in just 6 short weeks. You can catch those designers each Wednesday, and the rest of us will be linking up on Thursdays.
In case you missed it, I’ll be giving my new home office a drab to fab makeover. You can learn more about me and my plans for the office in Week 1.
To refresh your memory, here’s my plan:
Sadly, I don’t have too much progress to share this week. But here are a few thoughts…
I ordered this rug (in 8×10, which is no longer available) during the Kirkland’s Labor Day sale last month and I absolutely love it. You can’t beat the price, and it’s actually thick enough that I don’t need a rug pad. I just wish Kirkland’s had more large rug options!
I also picked up the cutest little peacock chair and this bright garden stool at a local vintage shop. Now I’m just trying to decide whether or not to paint the chair. Thoughts?
I’m also on the hunt for the perfect white desk. I had planned to use the large vintage wood desk that we already have, but it just really doesn’t fit the space. So now I’m thinking of other options.
As much as I love the parsons desk style or the x-leg desks, I know that I need more storage than those offer. And because the desk will face the door, it’s important that the backside looks neat.
I seriously considered this desk for about a day. It’s a major splurge, but I fell in deep love with it. Isn’t she pretty?
Now that I’ve come back down to earth, I think I’m going to hit up Ikea and build a desk that works for me, like this one.
Well, that’s it for me this week. I’ll try to have a little more for you next week. In the meantime, be sure to check out what each of these amazing designers are working on!
A huge thank you to Linda for hosting, and to Tonic Living and Amy Howard for sponsoring this makeover!

I just put that IKEA desk in my ORC and I love it. It’s perfect…but not as dreamy as the RH desk. Wow! That is one gorgeous desk!

Looove that peacock chair! Personally I love the unpainted look, especially since that looks like it’s in great condition. Though I’m never mad at a bit of lacquer paint!
Don’t paint the chair!! Love your plan can’t wait to see how it turns out.
I love your inspo board and the peacock chair and garden stool??? Love them!! #winning
Can’t wait to see it all come together.
