Labor Day is the unofficial end to summer, and I for one am ready for it! If you know me at all, you know that I am no fan of hot weather, and long for fall and even winter days year round. But I love the south so much, I’m stuck here for life! :)
Today I thought I’d share a few tips for getting the most out of this holiday weekend!
Whether it’s an ocean, a lake, or the plastic kiddie pool in your backyard, the best place to spend Labor Day weekend is near water. While I plan to have some beach time, I think I’ll skip the swimming part.
Go ahead and commit to being on island time. That means slow down and just cruise. Come 5:00 pm tomorrow, everyone will be rushing to their long weekend. Realize that you can’t do anything about the traffic, and your trip will be much more enjoyable.
Stripes are required for this nautical-themed holiday. It’s just a fact. Accept it.
At our house, the bourbon has moved to the back of the cabinet to make way for the lighter, fresher spirits. Celebrate this weekend by testing out a few new drinks!
What are your Labor Day plans?
Side note: While we’re on the topic of Labor Day…I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago and totally loved it. It has a real Bridges of Madison County feel, which is pretty high on my fave list. That concludes my PSA.
