July was a good month, mainly because my dear friend Elizabeth hosted not one but two adorable parties! Last Thursday, about 25 girls got together for our monthly girls night, but instead of meeting at a restaurant for dinner and drinks, we headed to Elizabeth’s house for a Favorite Things Party!
Here’s how it works:
Each girl brings a set number of her favorite item under a set price. For our party, we each brought 5 of our favorite item under $8. So at most, each person spent $40.
Your favorite thing can really be anything…a lip gloss, dry shampoo, candy, food, wine, body butter, hair ties, even a gift card…anything!
When the guests arrive, have them display their item on the table, and also write their name 5 times (or the number of products each person brought) and toss them in a basket.
After a bit of snacking and sipping, everyone gets together to introduce their product. Then each person draws 5 names. The names drawn represent the products that the person drawing will take home.
Once everyone has shared, it’s time to go shopping and get your new treats! And if you have a really awesome host, you even get new bags with cute little tags. (Tags found here via twin cities moms blog.)
To keep things simple, have each person bring a favorite appetizer or dessert. And of course, always have plenty to drink!
Thanks, Elizabeth, for always being our hostess with the mostess!
That is the cutest idea ever!!
I love this. I have been organizing a ladies night out with some of my friends. We go out because none of us are capable of your fantastic attention to detail. I love your ideas. So cute. Oh I found you on the Blog Loft. :)
This looks so fun, I need a girl’s night soon! I’m going to have to suggest this to friends. Pinning, thanks and stopping by from Inspired Bloggers Network :)
