On Saturday, four friends and I threw a nautical baby shower for our sweet friend Ali. She’s having a boy (named Rory!) at the end of August, and I for one can’t wait to meet him!
Since Ali is going with a nautical theme for Rory’s nursery, we decided to follow suit and throw an “Ahoy, It’s a Boy!” shower. Mary designed these adorable invitations, and things just kind of went from there.
My dear friend Elizabeth was kind enough to offer up her brand new house for the event. Isn’t it beautiful?!

For the menu, we kept it pretty simple…gourmet popcorn, petit fours, pimento cheese dip, fruit, mini eclairs, cookies, and crab dip. Because it’s been so very hot here in NC, we didn’t want any warm foods! We also served some fresh lemonade and strawberry lemonade to help everyone cool off.

You may recognize a few pieces from the Herring Hulse Designer Showcase Home. Elizabeth designed the breakfast room for the design house, and has now decorated her kitchen nook in a similar way.
We had a wonderful afternoon filled with great friends and lots of fun. Ali was showered with lots of goodies, and guests also left her a few messages in a bottle to read a little later.
Congratulations, Ali and Jason! I can’t wait to see you become parents. Here’s to smooth sailing!
I’m loving this! Pinned and tweeted! I always love your creations, thanks for sharing this with us at our party! I hope to see you tonight at 7 pm, we love seeing what you have been working on! Lou Lou Girls
I love what you did with the nautical theme. Can you tell me how you did the personalized initials with the anchor. Such a nice touch.
Thanks so much,
Debra
Hi Debra! Isn’t that cute?! A friend actually made it for the shower…you can see her prints here, and she also does custom work. https://www.etsy.com/shop/theremedyhouse
It’s so great to see that many people respect the wish of a mom and leave some cute baby gifts with lots of love and blessings. these reflect the care of the people in your life that support you for whatever you stand for!
Rory’s baby shower was adorable and well decorated. The framed anchor was an especially nice touch.
I am hosting a shower for a friend and also doing this theme. I love the message in a bottle idea. Can you direct me to where you got the print made?
Many thanks,
Melissa
