I think it’s safe to say that our interior design style is traditional. Ultra sleek modern just isn’t us, nor would it fit the style of our house. But who says that you have to choose between traditional and mid century modern? You can have both! That’s why I jumped on the wagon when Chairish asked me to share how I would style some mid century pieces.
I decided to head for the dining room for a little wow factor. Here’s the inspiration piece I chose:
It’s definitely out of my comfort zone, but I really love this abstract. I’ve been drawn to blues and greens lately…maybe it’s that spring is here and I like these more cheerful colors. Here’s how I pulled the space together:

I went with a traditional dining table and vintage walnut buffet. The minute I saw these chairs on Chairish, I knew I had to have them in this room. From there, I added some gold (you know me!) in the sconces, sunburst mirror, rug, and accessories. Lastly, I added a little extra drama with the emerald drapes. A little traditional, a little mid century. What do you think?
What’s your style? Are you more modern or traditional?
PS- Speaking of abstracts, have you entered the Christenberry Collection giveaway yet?!
Hello, love the look you’ve pulled together and the pops of color in the painting. I love the shades of blue. I am what I call scandi-glam. :)

My style is actually a blend of both which is classified as “Transitional.” I definitely like blending old with new and traditional with modern or contemporary. I just recently started posting this style on my new Pinterest boards that I’ve created. You can check it out here: https://www.pinterest.com/RBR_LLC/. Dagmara if you love blue there’s a board especially for someone like you.
