Splish Splash

As you might know from Instagram, we now have a “baby” clawfoot tub.  It is only 4 feet long–the perfect size to fit into our upstairs guest bathroom.  It’s in pretty good condition.  It just needs a good cleaning and a paint job and we’ll be in business.

So this is where it gets fun.  That bathroom is pretty much a blank slate, and all of the tile we’ve picked out is white, with gray grout.  So really, just about anything will “go” in there.  (FYI – the adjoining office will have navy walls with white trim.)  We just have to decide if we want to leave the tub white and neutral, or make it a feature with a punch of color!  I’m loving these painted tubs:

Once we pick a color (which could be white, who knows), the question becomes do we want to paint the feet the same color, or do we make them an accent in a different finish?  Here are some pretty cool metallic options:

So what do you think?  Would you go with color, or keep it neutral?  Which color is your favorite?

  1. I love the metallic silver or brass. You can take the feet to an auto body shop and have them paint them with powder coat paint. They will be stunning

  2. I have a claw foot tub and live the idea of painting it. I love teal, and I’d paint the feet same as tub. The gold, etc looks too ornate.
